B.Ed. Admission Procedure

B.Ed. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The B.Ed. Degree course (4 Semester) of this college is affiliated to Calicut University. The admission is through a Centrallized Allotment Process (CAP) done by the University of Calicut. The merit of the candidates will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Being a self-financing institution, the Management seats (50% of the total intake of 100 students) will be filled by the management. Applications to these seats may be send to the manager directly. The application forms can be collected from the college office. The students are admitted as per the directives of the University of Calicut. Eligibility:
Eligibility for different optional subjects

English
B.A Degree with English language and Literature / Functional English / Communicative English with 50% marks in Part-I+II+III together / 50% Marks for Part-III alone or B.A degree with English language and Literature/Functional English / Communicative English with Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks or with B.A/B.Sc with 50% marks for Part I English and Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks. B.A. English Honours Degree from Central Universities or State Universities with 50% marks recognised by UGC.

Malayalam
B.A Degree with Malayalam Language and Literature with 50% marks in Part I + II + III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or B.A Degree with Malayalam Language and Literature with Master’s Degree in Malayalam Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks or B.A/B.Sc with 50% of mark for Part II Malayalam and Master’s Degree in Malayalam Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks.

Note 1:
Candidates applying for the course under the language stream with a Bachelor’s Degree in the subject concerned will be ranked first in that particular stream. Candidates applying for the course under any language stream based on Part I/ Part II at Under Graduate level and having PG Degree in the same subject as in Part I/ Part II will be ranked only after that.

Mathematics
B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Statistics as main with 50% marks in Part I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or M. Sc Degree in
Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Statistics with 50% marks. Candidates with Statistics/Applied Statistics should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Bachelor’s in Technology with 55% marks.

Physical Science
B.Sc. Degree with Physics/Physics with Computer Application/B.Sc. Chemistry with Maths and Computer Application/B.Sc Polymer Chemistry/B.Sc.Geology/ B.Sc. Petrochemicals/B.Sc. Bio Chemistry/ B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry/B.Sc. BioPhysics/B.Sc. Applied Physics main with 50% marks in Part I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or M.Sc. Degree with Physics/ Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry /Geology/Petrochemicals/Biochemistry /Industrial Chemistry/ Biophysics/ Applied Physics with 50% marks or M.Sc Photonics (integrated) from CUSAT with 50% marks. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Bachelor’s in Technology with 55% marks.

Natural Science
B.Sc. Degree with Botany/Zoology/ Biochemistry/B.Sc. Plant Science/Home Science with Zoology or Botany as subsidiary/B.Sc. Family and Community Science with Zoology or Botany as subsidiary/Aquaculture with Biochemistry and Zoology as Subsidiaries/Biotechnology/Microbiology /Food Technology/Genetics with 50% marks in Part I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or M.Sc Degree with Botany/Zoology/ Biochemistry/Plant Science/ Home Science/ Family & Community Science/ Aquaculture/Biotechnology/Microbiology Food Technology/Genetics with 50% marks or B.Sc Agriculture with Bio-Chemistry and Zoology as subsidiaries with 50% marks.

Social Science
B.A Degree with History/Islamic History/ Arabic and Islamic History double main with 50% marks in Part I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or B.A/B.Sc. Degree with Geography/Politics/Economics/Economics with Developmental Economics/Economic with Foreign Trade/Economics with Islamic Finance/ Sociology/Psychology/ Philosophy/West Asian Studies/B.A Public Administration under part III and 50% marks in Part I+II+III together/50% Marks for Part-III alone or M.A/M.Sc. Degree in History/Islamic History/Geography/ Politics/ Economics/ Sociology/ Psychology/ Philosophy/ West Asian Studies/ Public Administration with 50% marks. MSW from nonsocial science stream with 50 % marks in aggregate in the post graduation (MSW)

Commerce
Candidates who have secured M.Com Degree with not less than 50% marks/ MBA with 55% marks in aggregate/equivalent grade are eligible for admission to the B. Ed. Course in Commerce. Such candidates are not eligible for admission to any other optional subject

Note 2:
a) Candidates applying for the course with a Bachelor’s Degree in the subject concerned will be ranked first in that particular stream.
b) Candidates applying for Mathematics/Physical Science under B.Sc. Stream will be ranked first. Candidates applying for Mathematics/Physical Science under B.Tech./B.E will be ranked only after B.Sc. stream.

Admission Schedule
The admission process is managed by the Directorate of Admissions (DOA), University of Calicut. Every year the DOA announces the details such as Notification Date, Publication of Notification, Date of publication of Rank list, Date of Counseling, Commencement of classes and Date of closing of admission.
Candidates should report to the college office with the following documents in original:

  1. The Allotment Memo received online.
  2. Receipt of fee remitted in the bank.
  3. Certificate to prove date of birth – SSLC Book.
  4. Transfer Certificate (TC) and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended.
  5. Marklist of the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent) and the Pass certificate (if applicable).
  6. Marklists of all parts of B.A/B.Sc., MA/M.Sc. Degree examinations and Degree Certificates (if applicable).
  7. Eligibility Certificate from any University in Kerala, in case of candidates who have passed a qualifying examination from other Universities outside state.
  8. Migration Certificate, if applicable.
  9. Any other documents required to be produced by the Head of Institution such as certificate to prove SC/ST/OBC, Community, Income, etc.
  10. Three passport size photos.
  11. Two self-addressed stamped envelopes.
  12. Take sufficient number of photocopies of the certificates before you submit those to the college office.
